Fundraising Goals
The CSDF Board has three goals before we reopen the building to be used by the public. Currently, electricity and gas are disconnected and the building is only accessible by board members for storage purposes.

1. Save one year’s worth of utilities and insurance
In 2023, electric, gas, and insurance cost CSDF approximately $12,000. The board believes it would be irresponsible to reopen the building without a substantial amount in savings to keep the building open.

2. Ready the basement as a
rental space
Cosmetic upgrades include replacing the carpet with luxury vinyl, patching and painting the walls, replacing lighting fixtures, and making minor upgrades in the kitchen. The community is in need of a rental space, and this would provide CSDF with occasional rental income.

3. Improve the building’s
energy efficiency
The first effort in improving efficiency is building framed walls (leaving the beautiful windows visible) and adding a ceiling in the theater space. This would allow for insulation to be added, lowering utility costs.
